Speed Reload Setup
For the fastest reloads, use open-top pouches on your front panel that let you rip a mag straight out without flaps or buckles. Kydex inserts on your belt give you a secondary reload point for emergencies.
Primary ammo: 3 open-top pouches on front panel — reload without looking.
Emergency ammo: 1-2 Kydex inserts on belt — backup when primary runs dry.
Speedloader: In a dump pouch or utility pouch — reachable but not in the way.
What to Leave Off
Be honest about what you actually use. Most airsofters never touch half the pouches on their kit.
Leave off: Third utility pouch, extra radio pouch (you only have one radio), hydration pouch on a CQB rig, six magazine pouches for a speedsoft match.
Keep on: Two to three mag pouches, dump pouch, one utility pouch, admin if you carry a phone.
Our Pouch Recommendations
At ORTACTICAL, we make a range of MOLLE pouches designed for specific jobs — rifle mag pouches with Kydex inserts for retention, a foldable dump pouch that stays flat until needed, and a compact utility pouch that fits a multitool and speedloader without bulging. Start with three pouches and add only what you actually reach for.
